Product Review: Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor

Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor

Colour: All night fuchsia

Description: 16 hours of comfortable colour. No touch-ups need - even after meals. Top coat enriched with chamomile, keeps lips comfortable and delivers the shiniest shine.

Directions for use:

Step 1: Apply lip colour evenly to clean, bear lips and wait until dry.
Step 2: Brush on top coat. Reapply as desired.

To remove: Use any oil or cream based make up remover or cleanser.

This package comes with a free Revlon colorstay moisture stain.

I first applied at 10 am as instructed. It felt thick and sticky when rubbed my lips together. I then applied the top coat. I had a hot chocolate drink around 11 am with very little transfer on the cup but the colour was still intact on my lips. I had lunch around 1 pm and that is when I noticed a bit of fading close to my inside lip area but the rest of the colour was still there. No touch ups so far. I did however applied lip balm as my lips started to feel dry.

I had a snack around 4pm and by that time when I checked in the mirror, the colour was half way gone. My lips didn't looked good. The colour was missing from half my bottom and upper lip, definitely,  not a good look.  However, I did feel my lips were dry and I only put the top coat but I did not reapply lip colour.

After dinner, I only have my lips outlined with the colour, all of the lipstick inside my lips was gone. Overall, this product fail to last the 16 hours as stated in the packaging.  I will not recommend this product for the 9 to 5 working ladies.  I will probably use it on a short night out, to have dinner with friends. Or even to out for a lunch break.

The other product included in the package was also in the colour stay family but it was a lip stain. This product is worse than the lip colour. I applied it around 9 am and by noon it was almost gone. It is a moisturised colour stay lip stain, which means your lips do not feel dry. This lip stain is not long lasting and if you want to have colour on your lips you do need to re-apply throughout the day.

New Products Review

I have tried a few new products this winter and I will like to share my thoughts on them with you.

Uniqlo Heattech

First, is the Heattech clothing line. I purchased the black Heattech turtle neck.  The material used for the turtle neck is very soft, stretchable, anti-static, non-deforming and odor control.  However, after a run test of this Heattech turtle neck I find that all of its claims are true, apart from one: odor control. It is a very light weight material, it kept me warm with just one coat on, non static while I wore it and it did not loose its shape. However, at the end of the day and after sweating quite a bit, once it was off, the top did not stink too badly but it did smell.  The verdict: it is a great top, I wore plenty of times without loosing its shape, is warm and it looks good with anything. I will recommend this new Heattech clothing to anyone.

Lycra Pro Rimmel London

I purchased 3 of these nail polish because on the bottle it states that it will give a professional finish that last up to 10 days. Well, I waited until my baby was fast as sleep and husband was tucked into bed and I began the process.  I put on my base coat, 2 coats of Lycra Pro and fast drying top coat (very important when doing this at night).  My nails were dry quickly and I even had some time to watch a few youtube videos before I went to sleep.

The next day, I barely had started with some cleaning and the paint was already chipping! Mind you, I do use gloves when doing washing dishes. I was a bit disappointed but decided to try a different color. I used the same process as the night before. Next day came around, same thing, my nails where not lasting a full day! I tried a different color with the same results. Frustrated with my new purchase, I done some research online and hear good things about a nail brand I never heard before: Barry M.

Barry M Nail Polish

I exchange my failed Lycra Pro nail polish for Barry M.  I got the Barry M Hi Shine Gel Effect Nail Polish, in Lilac, Gold and glitter nail polish. I was surprised to see that the Barry M lasted 4 full days before I noticed minor chips. Obviously I do a lot of housework but for someone doing office work, or other "light on the hands" jobs, the polish can last even longer! I highly recommend Barry M nail polish!

Colman's Season and Shake

I love this product! It is so easy to use, super tasty and there are so many options to choose from!  For those of you who never tried this product, is an envelope that contains a plastic bag and seasoning.  You simply take the bag out, open it, put ingredients (for example: chicken and mushrooms) then you season it, shake gently until is completely coated, seal the bag and put it in the oven to bake. Simple! They have a wide variety of flavors such as: sticky spare ribs, garlic & herb roast chicken, lemon & dill salmon, sausage & herb casserole, rich beef casserole, just to name a few.

I absolutely recommend this product, is super simple and the flavors are just amazing!

That's it for now, until next time!

PS: I have not been compensated for writing about the above mentioned products.

VTech Baby First Steps Walker Review

This is the must have toy for babies who are trying/starting to walk. Even before he was able to stand up and go, he used the activity center in the front of the walker; he loved all the colors, letters, songs, and lights.

What we love about it:

The activity center is portable; you can take it with you anywhere in the house or even out and about.

It is perfect to help with your child’s walking skills.

It can be adjusted to fold down so it can safely store in any space.

It can be used for the next child.

It is so much fun watching him trying to run with it, and we shouldn’t really laugh when he goes too fast and falls over, but it is funny – definitely the must have toy for all you “You’ve been framed” fans trying to catch a funny clip of your little one!

What we don’t like about it:

The wheels don’t have a break mechanism to stop it from going when needing to stop.

It would be great if it had breaks as he sometimes loves to stand up and just lean on it while watching his Cebeebies!  Overall this is a great 2 in 1 interactive toy that helps with your child motor skills as well as language development.
